On May 17, 1990, Rhonda Sue Coleman left a senior class meeting and never made it home. Her car was found abandoned beside the highway in Hazlehurst, Georgia. On May 20, 1990 the deceased body of Coleman was discovered in a wooded area in Montgomery County, Georgia. Rhonda was a lifelong resident of Hazlehurst, Jeff Davis County, Georgia. Rhonda was an only child and resided with both her mother and father at the time. An autopsy was completed on Rhonda at the GBI crime lab and no cause of death was determined. Rhonda was an active student at Jeff Davis High school and was last seen dropping off a friend at a store in the city of Hazlehurst prior to Rhonda heading home around 11:00 p.m. on May 17, 1990.
