WARE COUNTY — Dorothy McKinnon Rowell, 90, died Wednesday morning, April 13, 2022, at her residence. Mrs. Rowell was a native of Pierce County and lived most of her life in Ware County. She was formerly employed as  a seamstress with Streats Garments in Nichols, and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Blackshear. Mrs. Rowell was the daughter of the late Leroy Dixon and Colea Jean Atlman Rowell. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Brown McKinnon; three children, Wendell Rowell, Jennifer King and Linda Jordan; and three siblings, Violet Sprage, Lucy Dixon and Jesse Roberts. She is survived by her children, Barney Harold (Brigitte) of Jesup, Timothy Rowell (Michelle) of Nicholls, and Pamela Montgomery of Waycross; nine grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great grandchildren; a sister, Dale Thornton (Hardy) of Blackshear; a brother, Morris Dixon of Blackshear; her stepmother, Ruby Dixon of Blackshear; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A graveside service was held Friday, April 15, at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at musicfuneralhome.com.
