WAYCROSS β€” Margaret Winifred Godbolt, 90, died Sunday night, May 8, 2022, at Hospice House Satilla.

She was raised in Clinch County where she lived most of her life as a homemaker. Winifred attended Pine Valley Southern Congregational Methodist Church.

Winifred was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Margie Smith; her husband, William Recil Smith; her long-time companion, Ben Taylor; and sisters, Alice Denton, Eleanor Studebaker and Imogene Stalvey.

Survivors include five children, Elaine Bailey (Johnny), Paula Mixon (Yancy), Bill Godbolt, Jimmy Godbolt and Michael Godbolt (April) all of Waycross; 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; siblings, Theron β€œRed” Smith, Nathaniel Smith (Jeanette) and Gerald Smith (Lorraine); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 12, at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Clinch County. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service.
