WAYCROSS — Mary Elizabeth Parham Sweat, 67, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022, at Hospice House Satilla in Waycross following a short illness.

Mrs. Sweat was born in Ware County to Robert Lipscomb Parham and Jo Anne Barber Parham. She was a waitress for many years and also worked as a certified nursing assistant “CNA” in Jesup. She most recently attended Cornerstone Church of God.

In addition to her father, Mrs. Sweat was also preceded in death by her daughter, Brandi Michelle Miller.

She is survived by a granddaughter, Jerika Miller of Aurora, Colo.; a son-in-law, Stephen Miller of Acworth, Ga.; her mother, Jo Anne Barber Parham of Waresboro; three brothers, Dr. Bill Parham of Waycross, Robby Parham of Waresboro, and Jody Parham (Brandi) of Perry, Ga.; an aunt, Betty McDonald of Waycross; and numerous other relatives.

A funeral was held Friday, May 13 at Kettle Creek Church. Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery.

WAYCROSS — Tonya Renee Tucker, 66, died Monday night, May 9, 2022, at Memorial Satilla Health.

Mrs. Tucker was a native and life-long resident of Waycross. She graduated from Waycross High School and retired from Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse.

Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Tillman Tucker and Gladys Moore Tucker; her daughter, Terra Spradley; and brother, Buddy Tucker.

Survivors include her companion of 30 years, Scottie Neel of Waycross; one daughter, Tamra Turner (late husband Robin) of Waycross; grandchildren, Austin Roundtree, Braiden Rue and Brently Turner, Roman Dale and E.J. Siebert; one sister, Dr. Katherine Powell of Milledgeville; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today (Saturday, May 14) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
